Let’s break it all down so you can implement these strategies effortlessly.
Up to 68% of potential customers initiate the buying process but never complete it, resulting in lost revenue for businesses. Let’s explore the impact of abandoned carts on your business and the proven strategy you can implement right away to win back those customers.
In one of our companies (Deadline Funnel) we started using these 3 simple yet powerful emails to instantly win back more than 22% of abandoned carts.
This means that before we automated these 3 emails, we were missing out on customers. And after we set up this simple ActiveCampaign automation we immediately started seeing new sales come through EVERY SINGLE DAY.
Here are the 3 emails we sent to people that started to sign up for Deadline Funnel but never finished the checkout process:
First, we sent a gentle reminder to customers about their abandoned cart, ensuring they don't miss out on your valuable offerings. This email goes out immediately, within 15 minutes of them getting distracted and not finishing the checkout process.
Create urgency by highlighting the benefits and value customers are missing, instilling a fear of missing out. This is the second email we sent which goes out the next day. In our case specifically, we use the subject line “What do these creators know that you don’t?” and we reference specific testimonials and case studies of clients using our software to grow their businesses. If a prospect reads this email we want them asking themselves “what do all these successful creators do that I don’t do” and then realize they should sign up for our software because that’s the common trait with all of our success stories & case studies.
Offer a compelling incentive along with a deadline, motivating customers to take immediate action. If you don’t give your prospects a reason to buy NOW, they probably won’t buy at all. This is why we send one final email 7 hours before their deadline expires to our special offer. For us, the special offer is an extended trial of our software, so they get more time to test drive the platform for free. For you, you may want to include an extra bonus course, a free coaching call, or ticket to a live or virtual event as an incentive that goes away when the deadline expires.
Now that you know how we implemented this strategy with our company Deadline Funnel, resulting in a 22% increase in conversions, it’s your turn to take action and model what works in your business.
